Restless parrot fish
Hi everyone, I have 5 parrot fishes currently in my 423 tank now. last week I did a 100% water change with 0.5% salt (tested with KoiMedic), filling up 40% of my tank. I also dose the tank with MICROBE-LIFT Artemiss & Herbtana.
Due to some serious infection that almost wiped out my whole tank (6 of my 9 parrot fishes died within 2 weeks). After the water change they were swimming happily in the tank. last night I noticed 3 of my parrot fishes faded in color and 2 of my smaller parrot fishes has 1 torn scale each at their right side of their body with 1 of them having a bit of fin rot on its right side. I did a 20% water change and added 3 tablespoons of fine salt. This morning I noticed 1 of my bigger parrot has been restless (fins are slightly clamped together, resting at the bottom of my tank) but my 4 other fishes are swimming around normally so I did another 15% water change. But no significant improvement for my bigger parrot after 1 hour so I quarantined him into a smaller pail with air stone, that is when he seems more relaxed. cant post image due to PC. http: //i60.tinypic. com/ 30tho1z.jpg anyone can advise what happened? |

Advisable not to do 100% WC....high chance 1 of the reason ur fishes gasping for air...water parameters...best buy a spare tank smaller act as a hospital for them...seperate d sick n healthy fishes...coz u hav to really attend to d sick daily n every 3 days WC 30% no or reduce feeding...temperature 32C...ther are diff effect using normal n epson salt...same I put in normal salt b4 afew of my sick fishes floating at d top but when I use epson no problem...
