new tank setup in bedroom pls suggest what to put in
Bros,
Jus set up on 10 June Tues 10am. It was an outdoor tank with a lot of algae and floating plants before. Only put in an airtube and a bogwood. What else shall I add? Planning to breed or keep CRS. Thanks in advance. Alan |

Looks more like a driftwood than bogwood.
If for keeping mainly shrimps can put plants like mini riccia(must always trim this), taiwan moss or christmas moss while some narrow/needle leaf java fern will look good too with the DW. Or if you want more dramatic effect but higher maintenance plants go with flame, willow, erect moss or "us" fissiden. Remember to stay away from anubias & crypt. as they will release oxalic acid which are harmful to shrimps(or all lifeforms in higher concentration) when the above mention plants gets cut at the leaves, stem & rhizome. Go goodle oxalic acid to find out more. |

First you will need to add in soil to soften the water and keep the PH stable.
And also a good filtration system because WC should be minimal. For CRS, you will also need a lower temperature so a chiller is best. Maybe you can start of with cherry shrimps first. Then you can consider what kind of plants to grow |

Why you want to put pandan plant inside?! They are not aquatic plants & I rather not risk with the shrimps as they are more sensitive. Even if you are planning to use pandan as a de-nitrate system. And not many people like the smell of pandan in the room.
Soil just go with gex or ada they can auto maintain ph easily perhaps you may wish to ask the experts in shrimps section for more info on crs. Low quality crs are easy even without chiller but those prl or king kong are very sensitive & demanding. |

You can grow Pandan, riparium style. Roots in the water. Plant above.
