most of the members here who feed hikari lionhead pellets to their ranchu/gf do not soak it before feeding.

The theory is unsoaked pellets once eaten will absord water while in the 'stomach' of your GF, potentially causing problems such as swim bladder illness.

yalah.. cos thats what they do to pump FH now.. the soak the pellets (the large ones) then throw in and the fish swallow straight. then the fish can eat alot and the tummy become like goldfish...

Not a LH fan but wow lau, LH with an old man's beer belly look even worse man. With a big kok plus a beer belly certainly makes the fish looks deformed.

Actually I also have large sized pellet from Ocean Free. Once in a while I'll feed them to my GF... just to pump up their belly. But they don't seem to like the product, not becoz of the size, but it probably don't taste as good as Hikari's pellets. After feeding them, their poos are extra large size also.
