Default Bubbles

My 3 year old Aussie has been getting these bubbles all around its gills and on top of its head. Lots of them. And they're pretty big too. What are they? What causes them? And what's the cure?

thanks.

Yeah, I usually change out about 10% twice a month. I have a 150 gallon tank. Do you think it's because he's getting too big for the tank? I'd like to get a bigger tank but I don't really have room for it. I'll see if I can post a pic.

read up about gas supersaturation in fish bro.
do a search. this is something u have to rule in/out for your aro.
If the bubbles r just on the skin surface, n can b rubbed off, = no worries. submerge your hand in the water n see if the same occurs to ya.
If the bubbles r WITHIN the skin--like air blisters, then think supersaturation...chk aros' eyes. ensure no bubbles in there..also the fins too. these r predilection sites. sometimes popeye n death/breathing problems occur. this syndrome isn't too common but can happen with rapid water changes when the temp isn't the same, algal blooms, faulty airpumps etc

Ever seen this before? I'm going to do a 50% water change this time and clean out all the rocks and gravel thoroughly. I've had him for 3 years now and this is the first time I've ever seen this. I usually change out 10% of the water every 2 weeks.
